AA Euro has been retained by its client to recruit a Senior Nuclear Safety Assessor to play a key role in the development and delivery of nuclear safety case documentation across a range of major, high-impact projects throughout the UK. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a leadership-focused role within one of the most safety-driven and technically complex sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and peer review of high-quality, fit-for-purpose nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation with minimal supervision
  • Provide authoritative safety input during multi-disciplinary project meetings and design reviews
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and best practice
  • Liaise directly with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment of safety case strategies and delivery plans
  • Collaborate with specialist areas such as Human Factors, Fire Safety, Radiological Shielding, and Environmental to deliver integrated and robust safety solutions
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in all aspects of safety documentation and delivery

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in nuclear safety or a comparable high-hazard industry
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical/Control Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven track record in leading or significantly contributing to complex safety case development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and client presentations
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
