Job summary

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consultancy, seeks a Reactor System Design Engineer to join a highly innovative team developing next-generation nuclear technology, focusing on Reactor Island systems from concept through detailed design.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists, you will produce key design documents (SDDs, requirements, P&IDs, FBoMs) and perform technical sizing calculations to ensure safe, compliant architectures; this role suits 4–8 years' experience in

Qualifications

• 4-8 years in process or systems engineering.
• Experience delivering system designs through concept and detailed design.
• Ability to produce system requirements, system descriptions, P&IDs and calculations.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Reactor Island systems from concept through detailed design.
• Develop concepts and mature designs across design phases.
• Create and maintain design documentation (SDDs, requirements, P&IDs, FBoMs, calculations).
• Define system requirements and ensure compliant architectures.
• Present designs at design reviews and stage-gate assessments.
