Job description

Are you an experienced engineer with experience of bringing new products into manufacturing?

We’re working with a world-leading aerospace and defence technology provider located in Fife, Scotland, as they look to strengthen their Manufacturing team on the back of several new and exciting projects.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing new products into manufacturing, and enjoys working cross-functionally with other teams to ensure a smooth and robust transition from concept to production.

What will you be doing?

This is a key role in the manufacturing team, and will expose you to a variety of tasks, allowing you to contribute across the full NPI lifecycle. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the manufacturing engineering input for new products, ensuring robust process definition and readiness.
  • Designing and developing production processes, tooling, and fixtures to support efficient, high-quality build.
  • Collaborating with design, quality, and operations teams to deliver effective DFM feedback.
  • Managing technical risk, process validation, and documentation through each stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes and contributing to future factory capability planning.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • An HND or degree in Manufacturing, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering or NPI role, ideally within a high-reliability sector (defence, aerospace, medical).
  • Knowledge of process validation, production tooling, and fixture development.
  • A confident communicator with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.

Familiarity with Lean principles, Six Sigma tools, or structured problem-solving approaches is beneficial but not essential.

Due to the security requirements of this position, candidates must have British Citizenship, Settled Status, or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK. Additional background checks may be required.

In return, you can expect:

  • A competitive salary, between £45k – £60k DOE, and access to their discretionary bonus scheme.
  • 25 days’ holiday (rising to 27 with service) PLUS public holidays.
  • Up to 10.5% employer pension contribution.
  • 6× salary Life Assurance.
  • Enhanced family leave policies.
  • Early finish on Fridays.
  • On-site canteen with subsidised costs and free EV charging.
  • Flexible working options and a strong culture of professional development.
