Senior NPD Technologist

My client, a successful food manufacturer in the Durham area, is seeking a Senior New Product Development (NPD) Technologist to support and deliver all new product launches and process development projects within strict timescales and budget parameters, ensuring retailer expectations and quality standards are met.

Your New Role

  1. Work closely with other sites and retailer commercial teams to deliver category plans.
  2. Support site NPD processes from concept through to launch.
  3. Manage, develop, and lead process development teams.
  4. Be accountable for spend within budget.
  5. Maintain awareness of product, category, and market trends.
  6. Implement a culture of continuous improvement (CI).

What You Will Need To Succeed

  1. Degree in food science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience dealing with UK retailers.
  3. Strong project management and leadership skills, with a drive to implement change and lead teams effectively.
  4. Leadership, mentoring, and development planning abilities.
  5. Commercial awareness.

Role Details

  1. Days - Monday to Friday, with some Saturday work if required.
  2. 8 am - 5 pm, with flexibility as needed.
  3. Salary dependent on experience.
  4. Opportunities for career progression and development.
