Senior NOC (Network Operations Centre) Engineer

Location: Cardiff (central) - Hybrid working available

Working hours: 37.5 Hours Mon-Fri, with flexible start/end times. On call 1 in 4.

Are you an experienced NOC Engineer from a telecoms/ISP background seeking a secure role with hybrid working, on-call earnings, training, and long-term progression?

This role is with a major utility provider, managing a busy NOC with over 100,000 customers. It offers excellent job security, progression opportunities, and training on Nokia qualifications and/or ITIL.

The position was created due to internal promotion, highlighting career development potential. You can increase earnings through on-call and overtime, which are optional, allowing for a good work/life balance. The role includes flexible start/end times and two days per week remote working.

The role is diverse, involving customer-facing activities, back-office network management, and product development, working with advanced access technology like GPON Fibre to the Home (FTTH).

The role:

1. Full-time permanent position with a major utility company, including 2 days/week remote work, flexible hours, and on-call duties (1 week in 4).
2. Manage daily network operations, respond to outages and incidents, and support onsite teams.
3. Maintain and upgrade the core network infrastructure.
4. Serve as a senior technical escalation point.

The Person:

1. Relevant qualifications such as Nokia NRS certification, Juniper certifications, or a degree in IT/Network Engineering.
2. Extensive experience working in a NOC within a telecoms/ISP environment, preferably with over 50,000 customers.
3. Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing and communication protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
