Position Overview
Four-week rota working every other weekend with 2 x 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am, totaling 28 hours per week.
Purpose of the Position
- Promote a caring environment for residents by maintaining high standards of practice that meet their physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs.
- Ensure each resident receives appropriate care as outlined in their individual care plans.
- Support management in implementing the 'Essential Standards of Quality and Safety for Adults' in accordance with the Care Quality Commission.
- Develop positive working relationships with managers and participate in staff training and development.
- Take charge of shifts in the absence of the Deputy Manager and Manager.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2, with a commitment to work towards Level 3.
- Minimum of 12 months experience in the care field, with a good understanding of health and safety, elderly care principles, and staff supervision.
- Hold or be working towards all mandatory training courses.

Key Tasks
- Oversee and monitor daily routines to ensure high standards of resident care.
- Organize workload and supervise staff when in charge.
- Maintain good relationships with the management team.
- Communicate effectively with managers and care staff, both written and verbal.
- Contribute to and follow residents' care plans.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Administer medication according to procedures.
- Promote a friendly, homely atmosphere.
- Report staff and resident issues to management.
- Assist residents with daily activities.
- Greet visitors, answer phones, and screen calls.
- Uphold residents' rights, independence, privacy, and dignity.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Supervise staff on shift, ensuring standards and safety.
- Support healthcare professionals during visits and complete relevant documentation.
- Undertake responsibilities as directed by management.
- Participate in training as required.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by management.
