Job summary

The Sun is seeking an experienced production journalist to join the backbench of the integrated newsroom in London. You will play a crucial role in daily production, tone and design for The Sun and The Sun on Sunday, acting as a key link between editorial desks and print execution.

You will conceive and produce brilliant pages while influencing wider agenda and digital products. This role requires an experienced production journalist who can bring sparkle to pages, support the Night Editor and

Qualifications

• Senior production journalist experience in a fast-paced national or major regional press environment.
• Ability to publish across print and digital, with experience in video production is a plus.
• Strong headlines and page design skills with a sharp eye for high-risk stories under tight deadlines.
• Authoritative knowledge of media law and IPSO Editors' Code of Practice.
• Proven ability to make high-stakes editing decisions quickly in a rolling seven-day news cycle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with news, picture, sub-editing and art desks to create visually striking pages and headlines.
• Suggest story treatments, design tricks and splash ideas to the Night Editor.
• Revise and send pages for publication, ensuring tone, layout and headlines meet copyflow timings.
• Coordinate with the advertising team to position ad placements within guidelines.
• Liaise with Heads of News and Pictures to maximise online and video impact.
• Serve as a line of defence for media law and regulatory compliance across content.
