Job Description:

We’re looking for a compassionate Senior Care Worker to lead and support our night team. You’ll help create a calm and respectful environment where everyone feels safe, valued and cared for throughout the night.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll coordinate the shift, provide guidance to colleagues, and oversee the smooth running of the service. You’ll be involved in medication management, updating care plans, maintaining clear records, and stepping in when management cover is needed.

You’ll also support the development of your team through supervision, mentoring, and encouraging best practice in every shift.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and supporting the care team during the night shift
  • Helping with rota planning and ensuring adequate cover
  • Administering and auditing medication
  • Acting as a key worker for service users as needed
  • Supporting with care planning and accurate record keeping
  • Providing senior cover in the absence of a manager or deputy
  • Offering supervision and guidance to staff
  • Promoting a safe, supportive environment for everyone

What you’ll bring:

  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent)
  • A willingness to complete SVQ Level 4, PDA Supervision and Assessor Award
  • A calm, reliable approach and excellent communication skills
  • Experience in leading or mentoring others
  • A respectful and empathetic attitude, with a strong sense of accountability

This role carries an Occupational Requirement for applicants to be of Christian faith, in accordance with Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. You’ll also need to be a member of the PVG Scheme, and registered with the SSSC (or willing to register on appointment).
