Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent research experience in neuroscience.
• Background in neuroscience with focus on memory mechanisms.
• Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology is essential; two-photon imaging desirable.
• Experience with data handling and analysis.
• Desire to work in a collaborative research team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct experiments in rodent brain slice tissue using electrophysiology and 2-photon microscopy.
• Stimulate and measure synaptic and neuronal responses using optogenetics and glutamate uncaging.
• Analyse large datasets using appropriate analytical approaches.
• Present data at meetings and to the research group.
• Collaborate across multiple teams.
• Update stakeholders regularly with progress and options for discussion.
• Develop research ideas, write papers and explore independent funding options.
