Job summary

Active Neuro at Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre seeks an experienced Lead Speech and Language Therapist to lead therapy initiatives within a seven‑day care model. You will supervise junior SLTs, drive service development and provide high‑quality dysphagia and communication interventions for adults with neurological conditions.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, embrace evidence‑led care, and support induction and training across the IDT, ensuring compliance with HCPC and

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
• Experience in a neurorehabilitation setting.
• Specialist-level dysphagia competency according to the RCSLT framework.
• Formal supervision/line management experience.
• Strong communication, leadership and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist SLT assessment and treatment for clients with complex neurological needs.
• Devise and implement evidence-led therapy programmes at a specialist level with multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
• Maintain high standards of clinical care in line with national guidance.
• Undertake key worker duties, therapy coordination and discharge planning.
• Supervise less experienced SLTs and assistants in line with policy.
• Induct and train other IDT members and ensure HCPC compliance.
• Contribute to SLT policy implementation and service development.
