Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Specialist Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist for a 12-month fixed-term secondment in neurosciences. The role is full-time within a 7-day service, requiring flexible hours and leadership across the therapy MDT.

You will conduct neuro-specific assessments, lead discharge planning with multi-therapy input, and contribute to service development.

Qualifications

• Proven senior experience in acute neurological rehabilitation and working in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent leadership skills to work with the MDT and provide supervision.
• Experience delivering teaching to therapy staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialised neuro-specific assessments and goal-directed treatments.
• Discharge planning with multi-therapy input and liaison with community services.
• Lead and support senior therapists within the neurosciences team.
• Participate in audit, research and service development to improve patient care.
