Job summary

BT Group is seeking a subject matter expert in network engineering and Site Reliability Engineering to own major tech introductions and fault resolution across the fixed network. You will drive reliability improvements, champion automation, and embed observability and reliability‑first practices across the team.

You’ll lead complex incidents, manage change execution, and work with stakeholders including senior leaders to deliver business outcomes and growth for BT’s nationwide services.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands‑on experience across IP networking, switching and routing, and firewall technologies.
• Ability to troubleshoot high‑impact live network issues and lead incident resolution.
• Strong knowledge of incident/change management and end‑to‑end customer outcomes.
• Proven ability to implement SRE practices, automation and observability at scale.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME within network engineering; design, build, test and maintain network infrastructure components.
• Lead complex incidents as final escalation point and conduct blameless PIRs.
• Propose and implement innovations for reliability and efficiency; drive automation.
• Lead complex changes in live networks using CI/CD and governance.
• Provide 24/7 operational support for faults across network and platforms.
• Engage with stakeholders and contribute to resource strategy and team development.
