The Trust spans over two counties: North Tyneside and Northumberland, with a main WAN MPLS connection between the main hospitals in those regions.

Northumbria Digital Services team provides IT services to all of the Trust's directorates, departments, and subsidiaries. This role supports the team to ensure the campus LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi services are correctly designed, implemented, secured, and supported to meet the digital delivery needs and ambitions of the Trust's digital strategy.

Essential requirements: The post holder must have a valid UK driving licence and be either a car owner able to use the car for work purposes or have a Trust personal lease vehicle available for use in this role.

Please note: We reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once sufficient suitable applications have been received.

The role involves managing and supporting the performance of client network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, WLAN, Data Centre), providing proactive support to ensure maximum service availability in line with Trust service level agreements. The post serves as a point of escalation within the network operational team, supporting the digital services department, network technicians, engineers, and associated roles.

We manage three major hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham, along with several smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed. We also operate the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
