Job summary

Leidos UK is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support data centre, wide area and campus networking across the UK operations. The role requires DV clearance and is based in Farnborough with hybrid working patterns.

You will design and implement resilient networks, work with Juniper, Fortigate and F5 technologies, and collaborate with delivery teams to meet customer KPIs and security standards. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of data centre and campus networking technologies: Juniper, Fortigate, F5, encryption.
• Strong understanding of routing protocols (static and dynamic) in data centre, campus and WAN; thorough understanding of BGP.
• Experience operating high availability data centre networks supporting Windows, Linux and SAN workloads; technical refresh of devices.
• Experience with monitoring/management tools such as Solarwinds, FMC, Panorama.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server Environments (OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO) and Linux (RHEL).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to own complex incidents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of working in Agile/SAFe delivery teams with secure-by-design practices.

Responsibilities

• Providing network engineering skills and produce low level designs as part of the delivery team
• Work with delivery teams to implement modern, highly available, scalable networks using new and emerging technologies including automation
• Input into network management and acceptance aspects including setting standards and providing technical expertise
• Utilise verification and validation concepts to deliver relevant network designs
• Collaborate with customers on network management to meet needs of multiple lines of business
• Recognise and exploit business opportunities by leveraging architecture and design best practice
• Communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries
