The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related hardware. The Senior Engineer will troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support to internal staff.

The role is home-based with travel requirements (field).

What you'll do

• Customer Design:
  • Maintain expert-level understanding of our technical products and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, tailoring messages from high-level overviews to detailed technical discussions.
  • Support presales efforts by collaborating with the Presales team, providing technical expertise on-site and remotely to align solutions with client needs.
  • Conduct testing and validation of new equipment, technologies, and services to ensure interoperability before deployment.
  • Lead technical design and implementation of connectivity and TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• In-Life Operations:
  • Provide third-line support for complex issues and manage customer relationships.
  • Oversee operational delivery of projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
  • Manage configuration and change processes effectively.
  • Maintain strong relationships with hardware and software vendors, understanding their roadmaps and impacts.

What you'll bring

• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Experience configuring and deploying Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
• Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
• Network design experience including SD-WAN.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
• Expertise in 802.11 wireless technologies; experience with Ekahau or similar tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.
• Understanding of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre distribution systems is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
