We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join as a Senior Network Engineer and be responsible for designing, deploying, managing and maintaining all aspects of the global network and physical infrastructure, ensuring the best possible uptime and availability to support the business' customers, goals and growth.

Responsibilities include:

1. Plan, build, and deliver new network capabilities and deployments from standards and design documents to meet the needs of the business.
2. Maintaining network security through proper configuration of firewalls, wireless access points and VPN.
3. Maintaining multi-site network operations to support internal applications, operating systems including regular maintenance with both private and public facilities.
4. Physical installation and maintenance of network, power and server hardware.
5. Creating and maintaining documentation and network diagrams.
6. Full lifecycle management of network devices as well as support and development of network management and monitoring systems.
7. Performing regular preventative maintenance tasks such as capacity management and software updates.

What we're looking for...

In this role, you'll need to interact and engage with other teams and explain technical issues to non-technical staff. As such, we're looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can develop and maintain productive working relationships. You'll also have good organisational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and work items and a keen attention to detail. If you are currently certified, this would be a bonus.

We'll also expect you to have the following experience, knowledge and skills:

1. Experience running, managing and implementing all aspects of a global enterprise network architecture (WAN, campus and data centre).
2. Strong technical experience managing, supporting and optimising enterprise and data centre routing and switching architectures, including OSPF, BGP, ECMP, and VXLAN.
3. Network security architectures and SASE, including firewalls, VPN and IDS/IPS.
4. Data centre power, cooling and cabling standards, including experience of single and multi-mode fibre optic networks.
5. Experience working with WAN providers and fibre network infrastructure, including DIA, SDWAN, wavelength and dark fibre circuits.
6. Experience with AWS or other cloud-provider networking.
7. Understanding of VPN technologies including security and cryptographic standards.
8. Experience of deploying, managing and maintaining network monitoring systems.
9. Network access control systems and protocols, such as AAA, RADIUS, 802.1x.
10. DHCP, DNS and IPAM and SSL/PKI technologies.
11. Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, at every level of the OSI model, from cabling, through network devices to the operating system and applications.

Ideally, you'll also have:

1. Experience with scripting, automation or orchestration deployment tools.
2. Exposure to a range of different networking vendors and solutions.
3. Understanding of information security standards, e.g. ISO 27001.
4. Strong AWS or other Cloud network experience, including technologies such as DirectConnect, VPC, Transit Gateway, Security Groups or their equivalents.
5. Systems administration experience within a mixed Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and/or Android, including physical and virtual environments.
6. Good understanding of technology solutions beyond networking.

As well as technical skills, you're a motivated self-starter with a positive can-do attitude. You value teamwork and have strong communication skills with the ability to interact and engage with staff at all levels within the organisation.

Occasional out of hours and weekend work is required, comprising both remote and on-site work.
