Job description

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. You would join the UK Shared Services team and provide support and subject matter expertise to the IT Services function. Your responsibilities will include delivering planned or requested activities to effectively provide high-quality services to our customers.

Day-to-day you will:
  • Support the Head of UK IT Services and the UK Shared Services function in delivering IT network services across physical, virtual, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for systems/services within your remit, reviewing obsolescence and supporting the development of suitable roadmaps. Develop and maintain standards for network systems and services.
  • Lead the development of new technologies and enhancements to existing services.
  • Guide and support the transition of new technologies/solutions into service.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
  • Collaborate with IT architecture teams to develop and deliver IT solutions aligned with both IT and business requirements.

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and can be based at any of our main UK sites, with flexible working options.

Essential experience of the Senior Network Engineer:
  • Strong experience with enterprise-level IT networking services.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco LAN & WAN technologies such as ISE, Nexus, and Firepower.
  • Extensive knowledge of Switching and Routing, including OSPF and M-BGP.
  • Experience with F5 configuration and management, including LTM and ASM modules.
  • Experience with VMWare NSX-V/T services is advantageous.
  • Experience with network firewalls, specifically Palo Alto and ASA appliances.
