The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related hardware. The Senior Engineer will troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support to internal staff.

This role is home-based with travel requirements (field).

What you'll do

  • Customer Design:
    • Maintain expert-level understanding of our technical product functionalities and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Support presales efforts with technical expertise on-site and remotely.
    • Test and validate new equipment, technologies, and services for interoperability.
    • Lead technical design of connectivity and TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • In-Life Operations:
    • Provide third-line support for complex issues while maintaining customer relationships.
    • Oversee operational delivery of projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
    • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
    • Manage configuration changes effectively.
    • Maintain strong relationships with hardware and software vendors.

What you'll bring:

  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Experience configuring and deploying Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
  • Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
  • Network design experience, including SD-WAN.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
  • Expertise in 802.11 wireless technologies; experience with design tools like Ekahau is preferred.
  • Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre distribution systems is advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
