Salary: A competitive salary from £46,960 to £56,723, depending on experience.

The Job:

Our GTS Network Services team manages and maintains the Aegon Global Network, ensuring stability, deploying new technologies, and supporting systems. We provide expert support for the enterprise network, collaborating with other support teams to meet customer needs.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll troubleshoot incidents, support Level 2 operations, and resolve problems across networks including WAN, MAN, LAN, firewalls, VPNs, SDN, and wireless networks.

What You Will Do:

  1. Project Management: Handle moderately challenging tasks creatively, follow established procedures, and contribute to their development.
  2. Configure and Install Network Equipment: Install and configure routers, switches, and other network devices to support business needs.
  3. Analyze Data: Examine network data, perform packet analysis, and recommend improvements.
  4. Collaborate: Work with third-party and vendor support teams to resolve issues.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills: Strong abilities to diagnose and resolve issues under pressure.
  • Communication and Flexibility: Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and proactive work ethic.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, SDN, and wireless systems.
  • Encryption and Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with encryption, MPLS, VPNs.
  • Routing Protocols: Experience with EIGRP, BGP, OSPF.
  • Documentation: Ability to produce detailed network documentation.
  • Packet Analysis: Proficiency in packet capture analysis.
  • Telecommunications Expertise: Background in data networking technologies.

It’d also be great – but not essential:

  • Ability to work with 2nd and 3rd level network engineers internationally.
  • Cross-train team members in Cisco and Juniper routing/switching, Mist Wireless, Cisco ACI SDN.
