Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join the Aberdeen team. The role involves supporting and developing their Service Provider infrastructure, as well as participating in the research, design, deployment, and support of key services for their customers.

Note: This is an Aberdeen-based hybrid role with on-call responsibilities. Candidates must be located locally and authorized to work in the UK. No sponsorship or visas will be considered.

Responsibilities:

1. Improve the efficiency and stability of current networks, primarily in Cisco, Juniper Meraki, and Palo Alto environments.
2. Design and implement new network solutions focusing on availability and security.
3. Support the infrastructure that depends on these networks.
4. Maintain and develop technical documentation.
5. Support the research, development, and rollout of new services.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience as a Senior Network Engineer designing solutions for various network environments.
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in deploying, configuring, and supporting firewalls, routers, and switches.
• Experience working in an ITIL environment.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, incident management, and standards like Cyber Essentials Plus, IASME, ISO27001.
• Project management experience, including delivering milestones across multiple projects.
• Excellent customer-facing skills and experience supporting pre-sales activities.
• Ability to be part of an on-call rota and support team activities.
• Vendor certifications such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper.
• Experience with Azure/Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Agile or Prince2 project management frameworks.
• Industry training and commitment to professional development.
