Job Description:

Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is recruiting a Senior Network Engineer with significant experience in Automation and Control Network design and implementation to support our UK projects. This is a 4-year project as part of a 5-year client contract, with a potential extension of 3 years.

The role is primarily home-based, with the option to work from any Wood office in the UK. Travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required. Applicants must be able to pass the HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Senior Network Engineer will support project implementation in line with company objectives, focusing on continuous improvement of margin, customer satisfaction, schedule, working capital, and safety performance. Responsibilities include:

  • Discovering vulnerabilities and risks in networks, software systems, and datacentres through ongoing vulnerability scans and monitoring network data.
  • Ensuring hardware and software applications are updated.
  • Focusing on workflow and deployment for the Digital Integration service line.
  • Providing similar services for the wider System Integration service line.

The role requires the ability to quickly engage with clients and stakeholders to understand system upgrade objectives and achieve these within the new design.

Minimum Requirements:
  • BSc Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Significant experience and competency in Control System Network Design Engineering.
  • Good understanding of IEC62443 Industrial Cyber Security.
  • Good understanding of IEC 27001 / 2 Information Security Management.
  • Knowledge of Automation and Control engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in writing Network specifications.
  • Experience with multiple system implementation projects and control system platforms.
  • Experience in Brownfield upgrades/replacements of automation and control projects.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell and Schneider PLC / SCADA systems is advantageous.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, methodologies, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of modern automation and control applications and tools.
  • Experience with OT Intrusion Detection Systems is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of current industry technologies and software/tools.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, inquisitive.
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools.
