Job Description:

Senior Net Zero Sustainability Consultant is recruiting for a Net Zero Consultant to join our team. Despite global efforts to reach consensus at COP, the world is still facing the stark reality of breaching the °C warming limit. It is clear that we need immediate and deep reductions in carbon emissions across all sectors to avoid catastrophic climate breakdown. We are at the leading edge of the decarbonisation agenda, helping our clients develop strategies to translate their net zero aspirations into action. This role is suited to a candidate deeply committed to delivering on Net Zero and meeting Climate and Biodiversity Emergency Declaration commitments.

Projects you could work on include:
  • Delivering a robust net zero carbon and sustainability strategy for a large life sciences laboratory in Europe.
  • Designing an all-electric, net-zero energy and water building meeting rigorous criteria for resilience.
  • Achieving low operational energy for the Co-operative headquarters in Manchester, with high BREEAM scores.
  • Refurbishing a University of Cambridge building with a significant reduction in operational carbon emissions.
  • Leading innovative net zero energy strategies like 'Energy trees' with solar panels.

The duties include:

  • Analyzing energy and carbon performance data.
  • Conducting energy audits and identifying reduction measures.
  • Staying updated on net zero policies and legislation.
  • Developing decarbonisation roadmaps for international clients.
  • Preparing technical reports and communicating complex information.
  • Supporting team development and strategic expansion.
  • Leading and delivering projects meeting client requirements.
  • Mentoring junior team members.
Your skills & experience:

Expected qualifications and skills include:

  • BEng, MSc, or similar in relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of UK and global net zero frameworks (UKGBC, LETI, SBTi, CRREM).
  • Strong data analysis skills, proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with building services engineering, HVAC systems, and decarbonisation measures.
  • Ability to communicate technical info effectively.
  • Chartered status or working towards it.

Additional advantageous experience includes carbon accounting, energy audits, performance modelling, and project management in the industry.
