Job summary

Acteon invites a Senior Software Engineer to join UTEC, its Geo-services line in the UK. Based in Wokingham, you will develop and maintain .NET applications, including WPF and ASP.NET Core front/back end, with containerised deployments and REST interfaces.

You will work within an Agile team to deliver time-series processing, data visualisation, and secure communications across protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, REST, and OPC-UA. Strong problem solving and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience developing in C# within a .NET environment and WPF.
• Proven ability to build ASP.NET Core web pages with Razor/Blazor.
• Experience deploying apps in Docker containers and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Form a core part of the Technology Agile Development Team and fix bugs each sprint.
• Collaborate with the Senior Software Manager, Commercial IT, and Data scientists.
• Plan and deliver software scopes on time with the team.
• Identify bottlenecks and escalate with solutions to the Senior Software Manager.
• Own resolution of software deficiencies and support delivery goals.
• Work with QA and Systems Engineering to debug and resolve issues.
• Maintain and evolve the software platform with the team.
• Mentor and support other developers as needed.
• Document implementation and update change logs in Azure DevOps.
• Develop test strategies and automated unit tests with the teams.
