Job summary

Universal Music Group UK seeks a Senior Developer to design, develop and maintain backend services using .NET Core / ASP.NET Core on AWS, with a strong focus on serverless and event-driven systems. You will work in an agile team with product owners, analysts, engineers and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

You will develop modern web UIs and integrate them with backend services, manage AWS serverless components, and apply containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core for backend development.
• Proven experience building solutions on AWS, ideally including serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Kafka (preferably AWS MSK) for messaging/stream processing.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Good understanding of DevOps concepts, with practical experience using Git and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to Big Data tools/platforms and data pipelines is preferred.
• Comfortable working in an agile environment (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.
• Develop modern web UIs and integrate them with backend services.
• Develop and support AWS serverless solutions (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3).
• Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka on AWS MSK for high-throughput processing.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and run containerised services.
• Contribute to scalable, secure cloud architectures and CI/CD pipelines.
• Model and optimise data across SQL and NoSQL stores.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers and DevOps to deliver reliable solutions.
