Job summary

Youngs Employment Services seeks a Senior Software Developer to help transform a legacy booking system to Azure-based .NET, while building AI-powered quotation tools. You will deliver production services, perform strangler-fig migrations, and work with AI-assisted development tools in a collaborative, senior-led environment.

The role is hands-on, with a focus on cloud platforms, secure APIs, and a modernisation roadmap, in a hybrid London office setup.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands-on software development, primarily in .NET/C#.
• Recent experience with modern .NET (≥ .NET 8).
• Blazor experience across front-end apps.
• Strong Azure experience (App Service/Container Apps, Azure SQL, API Management).
• Experience modernising legacy systems via strangler-fig migration.
• Solid REST, microservices and event-driven patterns understanding.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted dev tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code).
• Identity/auth with Entra ID/Azure AD and OAuth2/OIDC.
• SQL Server/Azure SQL data modelling, performance, migrations.
• Clear communication and ownership from design to delivery in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support cloud-based services in .NET across Azure platform.
• Lead gradual migration of legacy booking platform using strangler-fig approach.
• Implement anti-corruption layers, data sync, staged cutovers and zero-downtime releases.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Develop secure services with Entra ID for staff and customer auth.
• Contribute to AI-enabled quotation and knowledge tools with human-in-the-loop features.
• Collaborate with mobile, product and engineering teams to consume APIs.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentoring.
