Job description

Job Purpose:

The role of the Senior NEC Supervisor is pivotal in supervising the Contractor's adherence to the Contract Specification, managing on-site operations and ensuring compliance with the project requirements. Key responsibilities include administrating financial matters and working with the wider contract administration team to confirm data for contractor work assessments.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Ensure the Contractor follows the Contract Specification and Testing & Certification requirements.
  2. Promote best practices across the Delivery Team.
  3. Oversee the Contractor's operations for compliance and record daily work progress.
  4. Inspect works that will be covered as part of the permanent works.
  5. Record and manage defective works within the site quality systems and CEMAR.
  6. Ensure timely closure of defects by the Contractor.
  7. Monitor on-site health and safety, reporting risks to the Project Manager.
  8. Attend meetings as requested by the Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Experience in the Highway and Bridge sector, including leading supervision and technical teams.
  2. Familiarity with the MCHW - Specification for Highway Works.
  3. Valid Driving Licence and CSCS Card.
  4. Ability to attend the site as required.
Desirable:
  1. Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
  2. Experienced in using CEMAR for recording Defects.
  3. NEC4 ECC Supervisor accreditation.
Competencies & Behaviours:
  1. Confidently liaise with the Contractor on technical matters and inspections.
  2. Proactive approach to issue resolution.
  3. Communicate effectively regarding health and safety practices.
  4. Strong communication and negotiation skills within a collaborative environment.
  5. Excellent record management, including daily diaries and app-based record keeping.
  6. Proficiency in office software applications.
Reporting & Communication:
  1. Report directly to the Project Manager, part of the contract administration team.
  2. Independently liaise with the Contractor's operational team daily.
  3. Manage inspectors to ensure the Contractor's quality assurance.
Working Location:
  1. On-site presence required for the entire working week for the duration of the works.
