Our client is a well established Civil/Structural consultancy based in Central London who specialize in the design of onshore and offshore maritime structures.

They are seeking a highly motivated Naval Architect / Senior Naval Architect who is chartered or near chartered to join their dynamic and forward-thinking maritime design team. While experience in maritime infrastructure is beneficial, they welcome applicants from a range of naval architecture backgrounds, including vessel design, marine operations, and offshore structures.

Current work includes port masterplans, floating infrastructure, vessel berthing strategies, and inspection of existing marine assets.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Undertake and deliver engineering designs and assessments through all project stages—from feasibility to detailed design.
  • Carry out hydrostatic and hydrodynamic analyses, vessel mooring assessments, structural design of floating/fixed marine structures.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, and design reviews.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, contractors, regulatory bodies and clients.
  • Attend site inspections and support marine operations planning.
  • Support innovation and contribute to Beckett Rankine’s technical leadership in maritime design.
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

  • A high-quality Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 4+ years of relevant experience in naval architecture, with exposure to either ship design, floating structures, berthing/mooring analysis, or marine infrastructure.
  • Experience of project delivery and working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to innovate.
  • Confident communicator in both written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant industry tools such as Rhino, Orca3D, GHS, MOSES, AutoCAD or similar.
  • Understanding of relevant codes, Health & Safety, and environmental regulations.
  • A strong team ethic and enthusiasm to support others’ development.

On offer is a salary of between £40,000 to £60,000 depending on your experience. They offer a strong benefits package and a hybrid working environment.
