Role Overview

We are seeking a highly driven Senior National Account Manager (SNAM) with proven experience in packaging to lead and grow relationships with some of the most important national accounts. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of strategic customers, delivering growth, profitability, and long-term partnership. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to drive results through collaboration and influence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value national accounts across the UK, ensuring excellent service delivery and strong commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and execute account plans aligned with growth targets, focusing on revenue, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and drive expansion through cross-selling and up-selling of packaging products and services.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and supply agreements, balancing customer needs with profitability.
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships with customer stakeholders at multiple levels, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Monitor account performance, sales forecasts, and market trends to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (commercial, operations, R&D, supply chain) to ensure seamless delivery of customer requirements.
  • Provide insights on competitor activity, market dynamics, and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, sharing best practices and contributing to team development.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven track record of success in National Account Management or Senior Account Management roles within packaging (flexible, rigid, or industrial packaging).
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and influencing skills at senior stakeholder level.
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of P&L management and margin optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make commercially sound decisions.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally as required.
