A bit about the role…
This role reports to the Grocery & Supermarkets Channel Manager and is responsible for executing the retail strategy and go-to-market plans in collaboration with selected retailer partners within your business unit, to drive sales and support good causes responsibly. As the SNAM, you will lead the strategic delivery of account plans and manage your designated portfolio. The role involves high levels of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, leading the deployment of our transformation plan for your retailers, and managing a team of NAMs and NAEs to support delivery of plans. You will work closely with the Channel Manager to shape the Grocery strategy and be a thought leader within the Grocery & Supermarkets Team and the broader Retail Channels Team.
This position is permanent. The successful candidate must be willing to travel bi-weekly to our Watford HQ and to various locations around the UK, including overnight stays as needed. The role includes a company car and fuel card.
What you’ll be doing…
- Deliver sales and good causes targets for major retailers within your business unit, focusing on high turnover accounts.
- Support the Channel Manager with channel-specific strategies and deputize when necessary.
- Collaborate with SNAM (Integration and New Business) on new technology projects.
- Develop and implement sales, revenue, and engagement programs with key retail stakeholders.
- Provide strategic insights based on market and retailer trends to inform plans.
- Lead key projects within your retailers, managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage business unit spend according to Allwyn processes.
- Coordinate with retailer organizations to ensure plan implementation.
- Develop communication plans to maintain and improve store metrics.
- Analyze business performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for product development and placement.
- Develop e-Commerce Scratchcard plans.
- Ensure responsible play objectives are met, including Op 18 and Health Play.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of NAMs and NAE to execute customer plans effectively.
What experience we’re looking for…
Essential Criteria
- Experience managing major retailers with high turnover, from planning to delivery.
- Proven account management experience within FMCG or retail sectors.
- Previous line management experience of NAE or NAM roles.
- Ability to manage relationships at Director level.
- Experience developing joint business plans with proven results.
- Experience trialing new retailers using current technology and processes.
- Understanding of retailer strategies and operations.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience working with major customers or third parties.
- Ability to analyze financial and business performance and provide insights.
- Excellent communication skills, including report writing.
- Knowledge of competitors in retail and lottery markets.
- Confidence in presenting to large audiences.
- Proficiency in reporting software and report creation.
- Project management experience with large budgets.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience managing a Top 6 Retailer.
- Experience managing a P&L account.
- Track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement using data-driven approaches.
- Knowledge of current and future retail technological developments.
- Knowledge of the retail marketplace beyond The National Lottery.
- Ability to translate insights into strategies and plans.
- Understanding of revenue and costs.
- Experience forecasting and delivering against trade marketing forecasts.
