Job description

The Cake Crew is looking for an experienced Senior National Account Manager to join our commercial team. The ideal candidate will have experience in an FMCG environment and exposure to major multiples, particularly Tesco and Co-Op. The role involves liaising externally with Retailers, Suppliers & Providers of Services, and internally with Finance, Technical, NPD, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain & Senior Management. The position is home-based, with requirements to be onsite in Bala, North Wales once a week, and involves regular national travel. Expenses are covered.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY


  1. Achieve targets against the annual budget across assigned accounts.
  2. Develop the JBP, NPD, and Promotional Plans with full P&L responsibility for assigned accounts.
  3. Maintain and grow the account base through strategic implementation and creativity.
  4. Build and manage a network of senior commercial and marketing contacts across key food retailers to understand customer needs and support sustainable business growth.
  5. Act as the primary contact for retailers and internal teams.
  6. Ensure adherence to all brand guidelines.
  7. Lead the NPD team, supporting the Head of NPD in line with KPIs.
  8. Oversee the development of TCC Branded and Licensed Co-Man business, ensuring ranges align with brand guidelines and are commercially viable to increase market share. Manage contracts, KPIs, and JBPs where applicable.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • Experience in the food industry is essential, ideally within private label bakery, with specific experience managing Tesco and Co-Op accounts.
  • Background and training in branded FMCG.
  • Ability to collaborate internally with commercial functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and enthusiasm for the FMCG industry.
  • Tenacious, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Confident, articulate, and courteous communicator over the phone, face-to-face, and in writing.
  • Team-oriented, fostering a positive team environment.

  • Experience working with Top 4 retailers and Discounters in Private Label.

  • Ability to interpret and utilize category data for informed decision-making internally and with retailers.
