Job Description:

Senior National Account Manager – Co-op

Remote with Visits to the customer.

Up to £80,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

Are you an experienced National Account Manager with a strong background in the food industry? Do you thrive in managing high-value retail partnerships and driving growth through collaborative relationships? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a key retail account with a turnover of £25m.

I am looking for a Senior National Account Manager to lead and grow a major Co-op account for a leading food business. The relationship has been developed over 25 years, providing quality foods to the Co-op. Due to an internal move, we are looking for a SNAM to really get under the skin of the account, driving distribution, effective JBPs and new wins.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience with Top 4 retailers, who is confident and comfortable managing JBPs. You will have a National Account Manager that reports into you as well as a National Account Executive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic management of the Co-op account, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs), aligning customer objectives with business goals.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to drive sales and market share within the bakery category.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including supply chain, category, and marketing, to deliver outstanding customer service and execution.
  • Negotiate and implement annual trading terms, promotional plans, and NPD launches.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a National Account Manager or Senior NAM managing top UK grocery retail accounts (Co-op experience preferred but not essential).
  • Strong understanding of the food industry, ideally within bakery or chilled/fresh categories.
  • A track record of successfully delivering JBPs and commercial negotiations with retail partners.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to drive decision-making.
  • A results-driven, proactive approach, with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

If the role and responsibilities sound like a good fit for you, then I’d love to speak to you!
