Overview
A commercially strategic role responsible for managing the relationship between a leading beauty brand and one of the UK's biggest beauty retailers. The Senior National Account Manager will oversee the full account management of a key UK retail partner, driving growth, profitability, and brand performance through strong commercial planning, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.
While this position begins as a 12-month fixed-term contract, there is a strong possibility of it developing into a permanent role based on performance and business growth.
Working closely with internal teams and the retailer's buying, supply, and marketing functions, the role focuses on forecasting, P&L ownership, data-driven decision-making, and delivering sustainable growth within a highly competitive market.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in senior commercial or national account management, ideally within beauty or FMCG
- At least 2 years' experience working directly with a major UK retailer (Boots or similar)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with proven forecasting and budgeting capability
- Track record of driving growth and profitability
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- P&L ownership and experience managing investments, margins, and trade terms
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of consumer and category dynamics
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management ability
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in skincare or premium/luxury beauty (desirable)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial strategy and execution for a key UK retail account
- Manage full P&L accountability, ensuring growth, profitability, and ROI
- Build strong partnerships with retail buying, marketing, and supply teams
- Develop and execute joint business plans aligned to both brand and retailer goals
- Work closely with internal departments to align demand planning, stock flow, and promotional activity
- Collaborate on product launches and marketing activations to drive awareness and sell-through
- Analyse performance data and market trends to identify new opportunities
- Lead negotiations, manage contracts, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
- Report on performance, forecasting, and growth plans to senior leadership
- Act as the voice of the retailer within the business, influencing long-term strategy and decision-making
