With an electrical, mechanical or building services background, your expertise will support our multidisciplinary team in a range of vital works. Familiarity of maintaining a large campus with a range of buildings, from state-of-the-art new builds to historic buildings, would be beneficial.
A varied daily workload requires a range of skills so a broad engineering background is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills and the desire to see jobs through to completion will be crucial in tasks such as reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance, fault-finding, escalation reporting and compliance. You should demonstrate digital literacy with Building Management Systems (BMS) experience and be willing to use Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) to receive jobs, and report accurate notes.
Excellent training and progression options are available with opportunities to work towards a Competent/Appointed Person (CP & AP) position for a range of disciplines according to the requirements of the Department.
You will participate in the 'on-call' rota and with the stability of being primarily based at Southmead Hospital, support to other Trust premises within the Bristol locality will be necessary from time to time. We are looking to fill full-time hours, however we would be happy to discuss part-time hours and flexible core hours.

To provide a safe, secure and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors. Be a senior technical responder for estates services within the Trusts operational establishments. Responsible for ensuring that all building and estates maintenance, minor works, are carried out to appropriate legislative standards and other guidance notes as required by Trust. Provide expert and professional estates expertise to stakeholders throughout the Trust as required.
