Job summary

University Hospitals Tees is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join the Hartlepool team, delivering high-quality musculoskeletal outpatients care and specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. You will supervise junior staff and contribute to policy development across sites.

You will provide expert input to the primary care network, ensure safe equipment use, and uphold CPD standards while coordinating a multidisciplinary team across the outpatient service.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
• HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
• Evidence of relevant postgraduate learning and continued professional development.
• Significant post-registration experience as a Physiotherapist.
• Experience of assessing, diagnosing and treating a range of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological or community patients.
• Experience supervising or supporting junior staff, assistants or students.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form an accurate diagnosis and prognosis in highly complex neuro-musculoskeletal conditions.
• Undertake comprehensive assessment of patients, including complex neuro-musculoskeletal presentations, using analytical skills and formulate management plans.
• Accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload and organise priorities and time efficiently.
• Participate in working parties developing policy changes within outpatient physiotherapy iMSK services that impact all service users.
• Provide teaching and instruction to relatives, carers and professionals to promote understanding of physiotherapy aims and ensure a consistent approach to care.
• Train, supervise and performance manage junior staff, technical instructors, assistants and students, including formal appraisal.
