About this role

As Senior MRI Physicist you will lead and support MRI-related activities across clinical trials at both our dedicated imaging clinic in London and across Perceptive's Imaging Corelab settings across the globe.

Working within a small team forming part of our Translational Applications group, your role will be broad ranging comprising protocol development, quality control programs (including technical and in vivo QC) and imaging input for trial design and documentation. You will also be tasked with overseeing MRI equipment maintenance, validation and safety compliance.

Your key responsibilities will extend to multi-site protocol deployment and troubleshooting, supporting technical QC efforts and collaborating on trial materials such as protocols, training guides, and review committee documentation.

Your role will also include supporting business development activities, with MRI input during sponsor meetings and contributing to the creation of compelling presentation and marketing materials.

Detailed accountabilities
  • Protocol development and support
  • Providing input on imaging for trial design and associated documentation
  • QC program management including:
  • Technical performance - DTT, phantoms etc.
  • In vivo QC - T1W, fMRI, ASL etc.
  • QIBA collaboration
  • Equipment maintenance and validation activities
  • MRI safety
  • Supporting Imaging Corelab multi-site trials, including:
  • Multi-site deployment of protocols, troubleshooting etc.
  • Supporting technical performance QC and in vivo QC
  • Protocol testing and development activities at London site
  • Imaging input for trial documentation: protocol, TOM, training, IRC, etc.
  • Business development support, including:
  • Attending meetings with sponsors and provide MRI input
  • Generating content for sponsor presentations and marketing material
  • Developing collaborative network with industry and academia
  • Research & development activities, including:
  • Identifying and supporting development of research techniques driven by external customer and internal business needs
  • Developing and performing image analysis for new techniques.
Functional Competencies (Technical Knowledge / Skills)
  • Strong general background in MRI with experience of MRI in drug development and - ideally - of running an MRI QC program in a GCP environment
  • Proven track record of MRI pulse sequence / protocol optimisation and deployment.
  • In depth knowledge of safety protocols relating to MRI, ideally as MRSE - MR safety expert
  • Strong programming skills (Matlab / Python) and image analysis experience
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
  • Experience with multi-site studies
  • Expertise in other therapy areas outside of neurology, e.g., spectroscopy, hepatology, etc.
  • ACS clinical scientist
  • Strong scientific publication / presentations track record
  • PET-MR experience
Education
  • Higher degree (e.g., PhD) in Medical Physics / Imaging
