Job summary

HealthJobs Ltd is advertising a Senior Moving & Handling Occupational Therapist in Sutton, London. The role offers a full-time ongoing contract with a rewarding hourly pay rate of up to £39.

The position focuses on moving, handling, equipment and adaptation needs while delivering high-quality Occupational Therapy services. You will conduct assessments, support residents to maximise independence, and collaborate with families, carers and care providers to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Minimum 2 years OT experience, preferably in Adult Social Care.
• Experience with major adaptations and disabled facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of residents and assess moving, handling, equipment, and adaptation needs.
• Conduct OT assessments using strengths-based approaches.
• Support residents to maximise independence and achieve goals.
• Recommend and prescribe assistive equipment and adaptations.
• Complete complex moving and handling assessments and safe plans.
• Work with residents, families, carers, and care providers to achieve outcomes.
• Operate the OT duty desk, screen referrals and urgent cases.
• Support and mentor Enabling Independence Officers and Trusted Assessors.
• Complete housing reports and undertake property visits.
• Maintain case records and documentation.
• Contribute to service development and multidisciplinary practices.
