Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a Model Validation Lead to validate and assure critical models across the business. You will lead independent validation, assess lifecycle, and present insights to governance committees.

This role blends technical data science with commercial insight and requires influencing senior stakeholders. It offers flexible working with a mix of home and in-office collaboration at Skipton.

Qualifications

• Degree in mathematical, statistical, data science or analytical discipline.
• Strong understanding of regulatory environments and model risk.
• Experience validating complex statistical models with testing and challenger models.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficient in Excel, SAS and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead independent validation of material models and provide robust challenge.
• Assess model performance across data quality, design, implementation, monitoring.
• Produce validation reports and present findings to senior governance committees.
• Translate complex concepts into clear messages for non-technical audiences.
• Support model risk governance and regulatory compliance activities.
