Head of Model Validation | Flexible/Remote

Job summary

Valayo, partnering with a leading UK General Insurer, is recruiting a senior leader to head and expand the Model Validation function. You will own the validation framework, set scope and activity plans, and drive how validation evolves across the business.

You will report to and present to Chief Actuary, CRO and Head of Capital, with exposure to Committees and Boards. The role offers genuine flexibility around where and how you work while maintaining strong work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuaries with strong General Insurance experience.
• Experienced in Internal Model validation and/or broader capital modelling.
• Strong technically with a good understanding of Solvency II / Solvency UK.
• Comfortable operating at a senior level and presenting complex findings clearly.
• Interested in taking ownership of and continuing to develop a validation function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Model Validation function and wider Model Risk Management.
• Shape the validation framework, scope and plan of activity.
• Present key findings and recommendations to Committees and Boards.
