Job summary

Waracle is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join a digital technology consultancy from its London base. The role is hybrid, 2 days in the London office, and offered on a contract basis inside IR35 for an initial 6 months.

Lead automation across mobile (iOS/Android) and API platforms, building scalable testing frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD. Strong Java/TypeScript/Python and Appium/Espresso/XCUITest experience are essential.

This is a Hybrid role working from our London office 2 days a week and is available on a Contract (Inside IR35) basis, initially for 6 months. Are you a technical quality specialist who thrives on collaboration, engineering rigor, and robust automation? We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who combines strong software engineering discipline with deep test automation expertise to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable quality solutions across mobile and API platforms.

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities

• Strategy & Framework Architecture: Design, build, and scale automated testing frameworks for mobile applications (iOS/Android) and APIs, integrating automated test suites directly into CI/CD pipelines.




• Quality & NFR Execution: Implement early-stage quality controls, test data management strategies, mobile security checks, accessibility testing, and performance validation across core user journeys.




• Cross-Functional Technical Integration: Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security specialists to improve system testability, debug complex root causes, and build resilient continuous testing pipelines.




• Standards & Tooling: Establish robust test automation standards, evaluate tooling, and optimize technical test coverage to support reliable software releases.

Requirements & Technical Experience

• Hands-on Quality Engineering: Proven experience delivering test automation solutions across mobile (iOS and Android) and API architectures.




• Core Automation & Programming: Strong object-oriented programming experience in Java, TypeScript, and/or Python, with direct experience building automation frameworks from scratch.




• Mobile Automation Frameworks: Demonstrable experience automating native and hybrid mobile applications using tools such as Appium, Espresso, and/or XCUITest.




• CI/CD & Pipeline Integration: Experience embedding automated test execution within modern continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
