Innova Solutions is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineering Manager to lead the mobile backend-for-frontend for a next-generation travel app on iOS and Android. You will provide leadership, direction, and hands-on engineering excellence across delivery teams.

Hybrid work with 3 days per week in office in London or Sussex. The role focuses on architecture, microservices, CI/CD, observability, and collaboration to design, build, and deploy robust software solutions.

Senior Mobile Engineering Manager

24 month contract

Inside IR35 - Paying up to £58 per hour via umbrella.

Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in office in London or Sussex

We are seeking an experienced, Senior Engineering Manager to lead the implementation of the mobile application service layer (Backend-for-Frontend) for a next-generation iOS and Android travel application. You will provide leadership, engineering direction, and deep technical expertise while remaining actively engaged in the delivery of software solutions. You will work closely with engineering teams to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, deploy, document, and support the software and systems that power customer-facing applications, business applications, and internal tools.

You will need:

• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience, including significant experience developing applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Previous experience in engineering leadership experience within a complex technology environment, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-grade technology solutions and integrating cross-platform systems within Agile product organizations.
• Experience working within Agile software delivery environments, including Scrum, Kanban, iterative development, and user-story-based planning.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple competing priorities within fast-paced environments.
• Hands-on experience with software quality practices, including automated functional testing, integration testing, performance testing, and technical documentation.
• Strong experience leading customer-facing digital platform initiatives throughout the complete software delivery lifecycle.

Technical Skills need:

• Deep expertise in software engineering, application architecture, and microservices development using; Java 17, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Gradle build automation
• Strong understanding of:

  • Scalable distributed systems
• Deep experience implementing observability strategies, including: Logging, monitoring, alerting, Performance Analysis and Production Diagnostics.

• Strong knowledge of cloud-native application development and deployment practices.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices, including: GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Automated Deployment Pipelines, infrastructure Automation, and release automation
• Proven ability to deliver software rapidly and reliably through robust engineering, automation, testing, and operational practices.
