Job summary

Ideagen is seeking a senior mobile engineer to own the delivery of complex features, migrations, and AI-assisted development across iOS and Android. You will mentor engineers within a global squad, ensure high-quality design and engineering decisions, and operate within a hybrid working pattern.

The role offers a clear progression path toward Staff or Lead Engineer positions. The position focuses on hands-on development building new products and capabilities, not just maintaining legacy

Qualifications

• Experience in native mobile development for iOS or Android (Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Jetpack).
• Experience delivering complex mobile features and migrations.
• Knowledge of architecture patterns, modularisation, dependency injection, and asynchronous programming.
• Strong security, CI/CD, and testing practices.
• Mentoring developers and contributing to engineering excellence.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools and orchestration workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex mobile features, migrations, and platform improvements for iOS/Android.
• Drive architecture, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainable code standards.
• Lead AI agent orchestration for feature delivery, testing and problem-solving.
• Build and enhance automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes.
• Mentor engineers and act as a reviewer for designs and specifications.
• Collaborate across teams to shape mobile standards and influence technical direction.
• Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness and drive end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex mobile features, technical migrations, and platform improvements across iOS, Android, or both.
• Drive high-quality engineering practices, including architecture, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainable code standards.
• Lead the effective use of AI agents and orchestration workflows for feature delivery, testing, and problem-solving, applying sound judgement on when and how to use AI tools while sharing best practices across the team.
• Build and enhance automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes to ensure reliable and high-performing mobile applications.
• Mentor and support engineers within the squad, providing technical guidance and acting as a key reviewer for designs and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams to shape mobile standards, share best practices, and influence technical direction.
• Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, processes, and platform capabilities, driving solutions from idea to implementation.

Skills And Experience

• Experienced in native mobile development, with expertise in iOS (Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit), Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose), or both.
• Deep technical knowledge of modern mobile development practices, including architecture patterns, modularisation, dependency injection, and asynchronous programming.
• Proven experience delivering complex mobile features, technical migrations, and solving performance, scalability, or stability challenges.
• Strong understanding of mobile security, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering best practices.
• A commitment to clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, with experience building and improving automated testing frameworks.
• Experience mentoring engineers, providing technical guidance, and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.
• Confidence using AI-assisted development tools and agent orchestration workflows to deliver complex features, refactoring initiatives, and testing strategies.
