Job summary

Elsevier’s research platforms seek a Senior MLOps Engineer to bridge Data Science and Engineering, turning NLP/IR/GenAI models into secure, scalable services. You’ll work on AI-based features, search quality, and knowledge-graph retrieval while ensuring editorial confidentiality and rights.

You’ll define project scope with managers and mentor junior staff. You will automate ML workflows across cloud platforms, manage model registries, and develop CI/CD for ML.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering ML engineering and MLOps in production.
• Hands-on with major cloud vendors (AWS/Azure/Google).
• Strong Python, Java or Scala engineering skills.
• Experience with NLP, GenAI, and retrieval systems.
• Familiar with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and Spark.

Responsibilities

• Automate and orchestrate ML workflows across cloud platforms.
• Maintain model registries and artifact stores for reproducibility.
• Develop and manage CI/CD for ML, data validation, and deployment.
• Implement ML engineering using SageMaker, MLflow, Azure ML.
• Build end-to-end SageMaker pipelines for recommendations.
• Design GAR+RAG components and manage prompt libraries.
• Develop ML pipelines with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch/Solr, vector/graph DBs.
• Create evaluation pipelines and conduct A/B testing.
• Optimize infrastructure costs and scale resources.
• Stay current with GAI/NLP/RAG research and apply findings.
