Job summary

PhysicsX Ltd. is building a new simulation software stack to enable deep physics AI across engineering lifecycles. We seek a senior ML engineer to own the end-to-end training stack, optimize architectures, and drive scalable experiments.

You will work with a high-caliber team, contribute to research progress, and operate within a hybrid model at our Shoreditch office with flexible work-from-home days.

Qualifications

• Experience training ML models at scale, industrially or in intense research settings.
• Experience with 3D or irregular data: meshes, point clouds, voxels, sparse tensors.
• Ability to scope, deliver projects and solve problems.
• Degree in CS, engineering, mathematics, physics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the training stack end to end: experiment harness, sweeps, distributed training, checkpointing, and throughput.
• Implement and optimise model architectures with efficiency in mind: sparse attention, custom kernels, memory/precision work.
• Take ideas from prototype to trained model and own ablations to validate improvements.
• Set technical direction for the training stack and build the inference/evaluation path to turn a checkpoint into usable output.
• Identify engineering investments to unlock research progress.
