Job summary

HSBC Global Services Limited in London is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to design, build, deploy and operate production-grade AI services that are secure, scalable, and reusable across Wholesale use cases.

You will productionise PoC/PoV work into hardened solutions, build MLOps pipelines, and develop reusable assets while partnering with data scientists, data engineers, and governance teams. Masters degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven production-grade software delivery, ownership of run/support.
• Proficient in Python and modern engineering practices.
• Hands-on AI deployment patterns and containerisation with Docker and orchestration.
• MLOps/CI/CD for ML, model packaging and release management.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; data pipelines integration.
• Build and deploy web APIs using Flask or FastAPI.
• Strong SQL Server / PostgreSQL skills; stakeholder communication.
• Excellent organisational skills and delivery discipline.
• Masters or higher in a relevant field; knowledge of SHAP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade AI services across Wholesale use cases.
• Productionise PoC/PoV work into hardened solutions with clear non-functional requirements.
• Build and maintain MLOps pipelines for repeatable releases and observability.
• Develop reusable assets and reference architectures; implement model performance monitoring and drift checks.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and governance stakeholders for end-to-end delivery.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Contribute to engineering standards and uplift the team through coaching.
