Job summary

Viridien in Crawley, United Kingdom is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to deploy and fine-tune LLMs for domain-specific tasks, build evaluation pipelines, and apply reinforcement learning to real-world problems.

You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to design production-ready AI workflows, orchestrate multi-model agents, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-moving, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical disciplines.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++/R/Java/Python.
• Advanced understanding of LLM and VLM architecture, post-training methods and evaluation pipelines.
• Experience in data and system engineering for large-scale model workflows.
• Proven experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow/PyTorch).
• Fluent with tools: Cursor, Windsurf, Trae, Gemini CLI, Claude Code, or Codex.

Responsibilities

• Develop and fine-tune LLMs for domain-specific tasks.
• Build evaluation infrastructure and benchmarking pipelines to compare model performance across datasets.
• Orchestrate multi-model agentic workflows and integrate them into production systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
