Job summary

Graphcore in Cambridge is seeking a Build Engineer within the Software Infrastructure group to scale and manage our ML software stack. You will develop essential tools and services that empower our broader software team, supporting build, test, deployment, and productisation across HPC AI platforms and distributed systems.

You will collaborate with QA and development teams to ensure robust build practices, reproducible stacks in secure sandboxed environments, and contribute fixes.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux environments and building software stacks.
• Understanding of build processes and frameworks.
• Knowledge of Python and C++ programming.
• Good communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with build tools such as CMake.
• Experience with remote caching/execution (e.g., Bazel).
• Experience with testing frameworks (PyTest, GoogleTest).
• Experience with integration tools (Buildstream).
• Familiarity with SDLC and software architecture patterns.
• Experience building and using containers (Docker, Podman).

Responsibilities

• Scale and manage our infrastructure within the Software Operations group.
• Develop tools and services to support build, test, deployment, and productisation.
• Work with HPC AI platforms and distributed systems.
• Provide guidance on build practices and dependency management.
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to ensure reproducible builds.
• Contribute fixes and improvements to the ML Software Stack.
