Microchip Technology Inc. in Whiteley, Hampshire (Southampton Area) seeks a Senior Design Engineer - Mixed Signal IC Design Architect to shape next-gen touch controllers and HMI solutions used in automotive, industrial and consumer products worldwide.

Based in Whiteley, you will join a skilled team with ownership across hardware, firmware and system-level design, tackling complex problems and delivering impact from concept to silicon validation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of digital or mixed-signal IC design and development.
• Strong RTL design skills using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
• Embedded software development experience in C/C++.
• Solid understanding of microcontroller architectures and embedded systems.
• Experience using Python, MATLAB or similar tools for modelling, automation or data analysis.
• Exposure to automotive or functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or Automotive SPICE.

Responsibilities

• Define and optimise capacitive sensing architectures and acquisition strategies.
• Verify RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog with design team.
• Develop high-performance embedded software for sensing and signal-processing functions.
• Drive silicon bring-up, debugging and validation activities.
• Solve complex system-level challenges across analog, digital and firmware domains.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver innovative HMI solutions.
