The successful Senior/Middle Leader will use their previous leadership experience to provide effective support across the school and contribute to positive outcomes for pupils. The role could suit professionals with experience as a Head of Year, Head of Department, Head of Faculty, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Pastoral Leader, Behaviour Lead, Safeguarding Lead, DSL, Progress Leader or Curriculum Leader within a secondary school setting.
This Senior/Middle Leader role is due to start after October Half Term and will run through to the end of this academic year, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a full‑time, long‑term position.
Provide effective pastoral and leadership support across the school
Use previous DSL, safeguarding, pastoral or leadership experience within the role
Support pupils with their wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and development
Work collaboratively with senior and middle leaders
Support positive behaviour, engagement and pupil progress
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and wider school teams
Contribute to the wider pastoral and leadership provision
Support safeguarding and child protection processes where appropriate
Maintain high professional standards across the school
Contribute to school improvement and positive outcomes for pupils
Experience as a Senior Leader or Middle Leader within a UK secondary school
Previous experience as a Head of Year, Head of Department, Head of Faculty, Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher is desirable
Experience in pastoral leadership, behaviour leadership, safeguarding, attendance or pupil progress
DSL/Designated Safeguarding Lead experience is desirable
Experience working within a UK secondary school
Strong understanding of pastoral care, behaviour management and safeguarding
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Ability to work effectively with colleagues across the school
