Job summary

Methods is recruiting a Data Architect to lead the programme's data architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and target architecture. You will set priorities, guide workstreams, and uplift the capability of the team while mentoring architects and engineers.

You will shape the data platform, govern standards, and design end-to-end data solutions for modern cloud-native environments across public sector and private client work.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Fabric architecture, governance, OneLake, Real-Time Intelligence, Data Engineering, Warehousing and Power BI integration.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, programme sponsors and project boards.
• Communicate technical decisions to non-technical executives and secure agreement on technical direction.
• Deep knowledge of the Azure data stack (Azure SQL Server, CosmosDB, Azure Data Factory, Purview, Synapse, Event Hub, Azure Databricks/Fabric).
• Extensive data modelling experience across relational and star/snowflake schemas.
• Proven track record with complex data migration projects (terabyte+ datasets).
• Experience with Parquet/Delta Lake and streaming architectures (Kafka, Event Hubs, Kinesis).
• Experience with AI/ML data architectures and MLOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Be the senior technical authority for the programme, defining technical direction and standards.
• Create and maintain the Data Transformation Programme roadmap and ensure alignment with target architecture.
• Lead architecture reviews and governance forums; establish data platform standards.
• Advocate data standards across projects and the organisation.
• Design end-to-end data solutions, APIs, and real-time data exposure across systems.
• Lead data migrations from legacy to cloud-native platforms; manage risk.
