Job summary

Birlasoft in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to design, implement, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365 services across a large enterprise.

The role focuses on collaboration, messaging, identity, security, governance, and automation within the Microsoft ecosystem, with responsibilities spanning Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and Entra ID. Ideal candidates will mentor juniors and contribute to roadmap decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/engineering.
• 7+ years of infra/platform engineering experience.
• 5+ years of Microsoft 365 engineering and administration experience.
• Experience with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive.
• PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, and Entra ID.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex identity, collaboration, and messaging issues.
• Manage Microsoft 365 tenant administration, licensing, governance, and user lifecycle management.
• Implement and maintain security, compliance, retention, and information protection solutions.
• Administer Entra ID, Hybrid Identity, Conditional Access, MFA, and Identity Governance.
• Manage Exchange Online mail flow, transport rules, messaging security, and hybrid environments.
• Develop automation using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.
• Monitor platform health, performance, security, and adoption trends.
• Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and business teams on enterprise solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to Microsoft 365 roadmap and architecture decisions.
